CFTR2

Dr. Patrick Sosnay, with the guidance of Dr. Garry Cutting and the support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is performing a comprehensive analysis of CFTR mutations that cause cystic fibrosis.  This analysis will include review of clinical information and prospective functional studies in the laboratory.  Plans are for studies examining how certain CFTR mutations cause the CFTR protein to traffic incorrectly within the cell. The other major goal of this study is to refine the clinical phenotype associated with CFTR mutations so that patients and physicians can better predict and understand the diverse clinical consequences of any given CF mutation.
